As part of the Right to the Streets project, Open Data Manchester are running workshops and organised walks to uncover route preferences in and around the Gorse Hill and North Trafford area.
We want to understand what common routes are taken, why some are more favourable than others and what sets these areas a part.
Centring the experience of residents in the area is very important to us, especially that of women and girls.
We hope to explore how these insights can help make streets and public spaces more welcoming for women and girls so they feel a sense of belonging in their community and live more active lives.
How exactly are streets deemed "unsafe" and what experiences, feelings and thoughts contribute in shaping this.
